WILLIAM F. METCALF
April 5, 1943 June 13, 2009
Of Kitchener, passed away sadly at St. Marys Hospital, after a long illness, at the age of 66. Survived by his life long friend Paul Dullaert and companion Leslie Felber.
Predeceased by his parents William and Verna Metcalf.
Bill would have liked to spend many more years talking with his friends about his bewilderment concerning the human condition.
The Little Metaphysician
When I was very young I was almost certain I would never know
What was going on, no matter how long I lived.
When I saw my first dead body I was certain
For I had no idea at all what I was looking at.
Later, I stopped asking questions,
Not because there were no answers,
But because I wasnt sure what questions to ask,
Or whether a question was even in order.
And so I took a step backward into bewilderment,
Where even exclamation is precluded,
Where the very mechanism of response goes into spasm.
