Died peacefully, with his family by his side at the Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Monday, July 6, 2009 at the age of 79 years.
Lovingly remembered by his sisters, Sister Joan Helm, SSND and Patricia Helm; his nephews Don (Kelly) Carey and Steve Carey; grand-nephews Jacob and Nicholas Carey and grand-niece, Olivia Carey.
Predeceased by his parents, Albert and Louise Helm and his sister, Mary Lou Carey (late Peter)
Friends are invited to share their memories of Doug with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Wednesday July 8, 2009, from 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be said at 8:45 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Louis RC Church, 53 Allen Street East, Waterloo, on Thursday, July 9, at 2 p.m. the Rev. Tim Uniac CR as Celebrant. Interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo. Reception to follow the burial back at the Funeral Home.
