With incredible sadness the family of Brian Michael Joesph Ernst announces his passing on Monday July 5, 2010 surrounded at home by his loving wife, son and daughter.
Loving husband of Debra Ernst (nee Henry) for 35 years. Dearly loved dad of Cory Michael Joseph and Mary Ernst and Lisa Marie and Brian Curtain. Forever remember and always missed by his grandkids Talon Michael Joseph and Alexandra Marie Ernst and Lillian May and Jacob Henry Curtain. Brian truly shined as the best Papa to his grandkids. Dear brother of Maureen Kama (Jone), Peggy Restoule (Jerry), Colleen Shantz (Paul), Tom (Debbie) and Kevin (Jill).
Predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Marie Ernst.
As Brian struggled with health issues over the last seven years he enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandkids. Over the years he enjoyed his work in industrial sales for various companies. Brian was an avid golfer who liked spending time with friends playing cards and was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 50. He had a passion for crosswords which enabled him to answer questions that not many people could and to use words not many people understood.
Brian never missed an opportunity to speak his mind and was well known for his sense of humor. He will live on in the memories as well as the endearing and funny stories that will be often spoken to his grandkids. Brian was instrumental in bringing his family closer together in his later years. In the end he held on to give us the time to come together and say the things that most families never get to say and for that we are forever grateful.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Brian with his family during memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St S., on Thursday, July 8, 2010, from 7-9 p.m. The memorial service will be held at Bloomingdale United Church, 860 Sawmill Rd., Bloomingdale, on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 10 a.m.
