<h1>Robert Cruickshank</h1> 1920 - 2007 Passed away peacefully at Lanark Heights, Kitchener on Friday, July 27, 2007 in his 88th year. Robert was the beloved husband of the late Constance "Connie" (nee Gellatly) who predeceased him a year ago on August 5, 2006 in their 65th year of marriage. He was the caring and much loved father of Ginnie Boro of Ottawa, Susan Casher and her husband Tom, and Jane Furlong and her husband Pat of Waterloo. He was the very proud grandfather of Seth Boro and his wife Jen of San Francisco, Amy Boro of Toronto and Claire, Christopher and Gavin Casher and Lauren Furlong of Waterloo. Robert was also predeceased by his parents Virginia (Bush) and George Cruickshank, brothers Tom and George and sister Nancy. Robert was a Veteran of the Second World War. He served in the Canadian Army in England, Italy and North Africa for the duration of the war. Attending the Remembrance Day ceremony was always important for him. Robert worked until retirement at the Canada Customs and Excise Dept. He and Connie were very involved with K-W Services for the Physically Disabled (currently K-W Access-Ability), where Robert volunteered in the swimming program for many years. He enjoyed his membership at the Waterloo Y with the Super Seniors. Robert was a longtime member of the Church of the Holy Saviour in Waterloo. As a result of two severe strokes, Bob has resided at Lanark Heights for the past 3 ½ years, preceded by 7 ½ years at Lanark Place. He will be missed by the many wonderful caregivers there who have assisted him over these years. His family is very appreciative of the loving care and dignity which has been shown to him, particularly in recent weeks. Friends are invited to share their memories of Bob at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday August 2, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate his life and faith will be held at the Church of the Holy Saviour, 33 Allen Street East, Waterloo, on Friday August 3, 2007 at 11 am, with Archdeacon Neil Carver officiating. Following the service, friends and relatives are invited to the Parish Hall for refreshments and a time to visit with the family.
