On Sunday morning, Ruby passed away peacefully at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre.
Ruby will be dearly missed by her children, Wayne (Lynn) Rehkopf, Waterloo; Brian (Vivianne) Rehkopf, Hesson; Debbie (Bruno) Egli, Philipsburg; daughter-in-law, Edna Rehkopf, Waterloo, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Rehkopf, in 1982; her parents, Flossie and Edward Ludwig; sister, Dorothy Weiler; son, Keith Rehkopf, granddaughter, Tracey (Rehkopf) DeVries and great-grandson, Christopher Rehkopf.
Ruby was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was very gifted at making quilts and knitting and she loved working on crafts and ceramics. Her room at Columbia Forest was filled with her beautiful handiwork and photos of her family. Rubys family would like to thank the staff at Columbia Forest, Forest Heights L.T.C., Trinity Village and Conestoga Lodge for their dedication and care. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Philipsburg.
Visitation will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Tuesday, July 28 from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Sheryl Stone officiating. Following the service, friends and family are invited to the Fireside Reception Room for refreshments. Interment at Memory Gardens will occur following the reception.
