Obituary of Gayle Stephen

Gayle Stephen
It is with unimagined sorrow and regret that we place this announcement of Gayle Stephen’s passing on July 19, 2007 at the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Her 17 year long battle with cancer has come to an end. Gayle was a loving sister, friend and kindred spirit to Lynne Stephen, a sister more than sister-in-law to David Masters, and a devoted aunt to Brennan Stephen-Hagey and Keelan Stephen- Masters. She will be missed by many friends, especially by her close friends Rick Kropf and Gay Bott of Kitchener. She was predeceased by her loving and caring parents William and Martha Stephen. Cancer did not defeat Gayle because she always maintained a positive attitude and outlook on life. She continued to work as a tour guide travelling the world, while spending her summer months vacationing at her beloved cottage at Sauble Beach. She shopped and bargain hunted until she dropped, and relished fine cuisine. She would not let cancer stop her from living the life that she wanted to live. This kind, generous, spunky soul cannot be replaced, will be terribly missed but vividly remembered forever. We loved and love you Gayle. In celebrating her life, a memorial service will be held in the chapel of the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Saturday October 20, 2007 at 2:30 pm with Rev. Allan Rudy-Froese officiating. Condolences for the family and donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre may be arranged through the funeral home, 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com. In living memory of Gayle, a tree will be planted through the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
