Passed away peacefully at The Westmount Nursing Home in Kitchener on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the age of 97.
Nora was born on February 4, 1910 in Lewisham, England to the late John and Maud Maloney. Nora was predeceased by her husband David George Batcock whom she was married to for 49 years and her second husband Alex Clutton. Nora is survived by her loving children David (Norma) Batcock of Ottawa, Mary Doggrell of Waterloo and Janet Mead of Waterloo and her step-children David (Sandy) Clutton of Toronto and Marilyn Post of Waterloo. Nora was predeceased by her sons-in-law, William Doggrell and William Mead, her step-son-in-law Donald Post and granddaughter Joyce Mead. She is survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Also, five step-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great grandchild.
Nora was known for her fine knitting skills and her volunteer service at the Adult Recreation Centre.
A Celebration of Noras life and faith will be held at Glen Acres Baptist Church, 223 Hartwood Avenue, Waterloo, on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 3 p.m. A lunch and time of fellowship will be held in the church hall immediately following the service.
