Went to be with his Lord, on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at the KW Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, in his 89th year.
Loving husband of Helen (nee Baechler) for 58 years. Survived by his sisters, Rose Quillan of South Carolina and Betty Kramer of Kitchener; also by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wilf and Rita Steffler of Waterloo. Lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Ignatius and Catherine Benninger; brothers, Isadore, Joe and Ed; and sisters, Josephine, Julia and Regina.
Art was born on September 14, 1918 in Formosa, Ontario. As a young man he served our country in the Second World War. He was a retired employee of Kitchener Lumber and was an avid gardener. Art was longtime member of St. Michaels RC Church where he was an usher for 35 years, and also belonged to St. Josephs Society in Formosa.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Art during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, Thursday, July 19, 2007 from 7-9 p.m., with Parish Prayers at 8:45 p.m. The funeral mass to celebrate Arts life and faith will be held at St. Michaels RC Church, 240 Hemlock St., Waterloo, on Friday, July 20, 2007 at 10 a.m., the Rev. James Malone as celebrant. Interment in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. Reception will follow the interment in the Fireside Reception Room of the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home.
