Passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010 at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital at age 92.
Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth White; loved father of John, Philip (Kathy), and Joanne Baxter (John); dear grandfather of Gina Baxter and Lori Ross (Jason); great-grandfather of John and Bryan Baxter and Riley and Wyatt Ross; brother of Doreen Gordon (Bruce), and Lydia McKee.
Predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Cindy, a sister, Jean and her husband Arnold Munroe, brothers, Donald and Robert and his wife Marie, and a brother-in-law, Robert McKee.
John was a longtime employee of Canada Customs and a member of the Essex-Kent Scottish Regiment. He served in the Second World War from 1939 to 1945.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, July 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Angus Sutherland officiating. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
