Helen went home to be with her Lord Jesus at Freeport Hospital Long Term Care on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at the age of 95 years. Helen was predeceased by her husband Ralph and daughter JoAnne Flatley. She is the loving mother of Bryan and his wife Karen of New Dundee, Brenda and her husband John Baldwin of Waterloo, and Randy of Goderich, Ont. She is survived by a sister, Molly Ferguson of Toronto and loved by many nieces and nephews, grandson Andrew Baldwin of Waterloo, step granddaughters Kim Walker of Cambridge, Julia (Peter) Wadsworth of Lakefield, and step grandson Greg Fisher of Waterloo, and great grandchildren Kaylan, Ryan, Haley, Melissa, and Jessica. Helen was also predeceased by sisters Ida Heubach and Faye Dubrick, brothers Harry, Ed and Eric Donau and parents Marie and John Donau.
Helen was a faithful member of Emmanuel United Church in Waterloo for over 70 years where she was a member of the UCW and the weekly social gathering of the Toothpix. She enjoyed cooking hot noon hour meals for the children and staff at Emmanuel Daycare in the 1970s for 8 years.
Cremation has taken place at her request. A memorial service will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 1:00pm. with Rev. Bruce Sweet and Marilyn Hollinger of Emmanuel United Church officiating and will be followed by a luncheon and then interment at Parkview Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to share their memories of Helen with her family during the hour visitation prior to the service.
