Obituary of Lyle Smuck

<h1>Lyle Smuck</h1> 1910 – 2008 Of Kitchener, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital, in his 98th year. The only son of Agnes Mitchell and Ithamar Smuck of Mt. Hope, Ontario. Lyle is predeceased by his wife, Marion Glover and only sister, Anne Irene Smuck Cornell. He is survived by two nieces, Susan Cornell Pallett of Sherwood Park, Alberta, and Sylvia Cornell of Kitchener, and nephew, Dr. Scott Cornell of Vancouver, and their families. In 1937, Lyle opened Smuck’s China and Gift Shop in downtown Kitchener, and enjoyed the china business for many years. He was a member of First United Church, Waterloo, for over 50 years. He was also a long-time member of the K-W Granite Club and Westmount Golf and Country Club, as well as the Business and Professional Men’s Club. He will be deeply missed by dear friend, Audrey Haslam, and her family, who were so wonderfully attentive to him in his final days. Friends are invited to share their memories of Lyle with his family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Saturday, July 19, 2008, from 2 – 3 pm. The memorial service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 3pm. Following the service friends are invited to join the family in the funeral home’s Fireside Reception Room for a reception and a time to visit.
