Of New Hamburg, passed away suddenly, as a result of a car accident, on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the age of 80 years.
Beloved wife of Roy for 53 years. Loving mom of Carolyn Strathdee and husband Mike, Mark Shantz and wife Suean, Phil Shantz and wife Christina Enns, and Brenda Shantz. Grandma to granddaughters, Ashton, Ella, Kate, Natasha, and Mackenzie. Dear sister of Gloria Coats (Bill) and Diane Rohr and sister-in-law of Grace Rohr and Marion Rohr. She is also survived by brothers-in-law Ralph Shantz (Nelda) and Rae Hilborn.
Predeceased by her parents, Milton and Alice (Culligan) Rohr and brothers, Ed Rohr and Ken Rohr.
Elaine lived her entire life in Waterloo County and was a lifelong member of Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church. She worked for many years with Adjusters Canada. For the past 16 years, Roy and Elaine have lived at Morningside Village in New Hamburg.
Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Elaine during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, January 10 from 7-9 pm and on Sunday, January 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service to honour Elaines life and faith will be held at Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church, 57 Stirling Ave., Kitchener on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 10:30 am with Rev. Marilyn Rudy-Froese officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service at the church. Private family committal service at Memory Gardens, Breslau.
