<h1>Lorena Lyle</h1> (nee Jones) 1917 – 2008 Lorena passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Home on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimers. Predeceased by her beloved husband Dr. William Lyle in 2006. She was a loving and devoted mother to her children, Lesley and Tim, Joan and Cesar, and Barb. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Bruce and Amy, Lesley Ann and Derek, Lauren and Kaitlyn and great-grandchildren, Kiera, Rogan, and Archer. She will also be missed by Phyllis, Adrienne and Jim, Dorothy, Alice and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings Freda, Eileen, and Harvey. Born in Maryfield, Saskatchewan, Lorena worked for GMAC for 15 years in Winnipeg. She married William in 1956 and moved to Bloomington, IN in 1960, moved to Toronto in 1965 and to Kitchener in 1967. She was active in Faith Evangelical Missionary Church in Kitchener for many years. Among Lorena’s favourite activities, were the K-W Garden Club and the Gilbert and Sullivan Society. She volunteered at Sunnyside Home and at St. Raphael’s Nursing Home. She loved travelling and remained in contact with many of their friends throughout the years. Despite her illness, she maintained her sense of humour and her beautiful smile. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Sunnyside Home especially Buttonworks and Riverside for their care. Cremation has taken place. Please join us in celebrating the life of Lorena Lyle at Faith Evangelical Missionary Church, 3849 King Street East, Kitchener, on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow at the church.
