Obituary of Jean McLellan

<h1>Jean McLellan</h1> 1920-2010 Born June 1920 in Maryhill, Glasgow, Scotland. Died peacefully on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Our dear mother started the journey to be reunited with her sorely missed husband, George McLellan (died in Glasgow, Scotland 1989). Mum gamely carried on with life for 17 independent widowed years, first in Glasgow, then at the Seniors Residence Apartments in Luther Manor, Waterloo. Thanks to Margaret Pettigrew, Tim and Fred of Luther Manor, life there was made easier and more pleasant because of them. Mum is survived by her younger sister Nessie Cavan of Anniesland Cross, Glasgow; her sons A.G. (Sandy) and Bryce W.K. McLellan of Waterloo and Burlington, Ontario. She also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces in the U.K. and Canada, Bryce’s sons, her grandsons, Kyle and Colin of Toronto. For the last several years Mum was happy and well looked after by the staff of Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre in Waterloo. At her request, cremation has taken place and her ashes will be spread in the Memorial Garden in the Maryhill Necropolis, Glasgow beside her husband, George. In living memory of Jean, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
