Passed away peacefully at his residence, on Monday, January 26, 2009, in his 94th year.
Beloved husband of Theresa (Weber) for 48 years. Loving father to Jacqueline and her husband Todd Jolly, Susan and her husband Michael Kay. Cherished grandfather to Trent and Brock Jolly, Mitchell and Laura Kay. Edwin will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law, Helen McCaig and brother-in-law, Raymond Weber and many nieces and nephews.
Edwin was predeceased by his brothers, Theadore, Charles and William Dietrich and sisters, Francis Dietrich and Martha Miller.
Edwin was born in St. Agatha. Son of the late Louis B. Dietrich and late Mary Buchheit. He was a lifelong member of St. Agatha RC Church. He farmed in St. Agatha and was a mechanic for many years. After his retirement from Sunar Industries in 1985, he continued his love of engines at Foxwood Golf Course until retiring at the age of 85 years old. Edwin was a founder of the St. Agatha Greenwood Rod and Gun Club. He conducted small engine courses at a local high school. He had a passion for automobiles, fishing, snowmobiling and gardening and will be sadly missed by his friends in St. Agatha. Edwin enjoyed watching the Toronto Maple Leafs, and was the biggest fan for his grandchildrens hockey and soccer games.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Edwin with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday 7 - 9 p.m. and Thursday 7 9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 8:45 p.m. Morning prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:15 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agatha RC Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Charles Fedy, C.R. as Celebrant. Spring Burial at St. Agatha RC Cemetery.
