<h1>Richard Hallman</h1> 1951 – 2009 With deep regret, the family of Rick Hallman announce his sudden death on Friday, January 23, 2009. Rick was the youngest son of Ken and Lillian Hallman, former long-time members of Emmanuel United Church in Waterloo. Rick had recently retired from a distinguished career in education culminating in his service as the principal of Benjamin N. Cardozo High School in New York City. Rick also authored several text books, particularly one entitled “The Living Environment: Biology” which is widely used in New York high schools. Rick is predeceased by his parents. Rick is survived by his wife Diane of New York, his brother Jim and wife Jaye of Phoenix Arizona, brother David and partner William of Toronto, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held in New York City on Friday January 30, 2009.
