With great sadness we announce Ross peaceful death at Pinehaven Nursing Home on Monday, January 21, 2008 after a long and valiant struggle with PSP. Dearly beloved husband and best friend of Joan (Stockton) for 47 years. Proud and devoted father of Pam (Sylvia), Brad (Stephanie), Julie (David). Loving Grampa of Russell and Rosie Rader. Survived by brothers Tom (Shirley), Morley (Beverly), Vern (Sue), Brian (Debbie), Barry (Linda), mother-in-law, Jean Stockton and brother-in-law Allan (Sherry).
Fondly remembered by special cousins Ethel and Cassandra and many other caring friends and relatives. Ross will be remembered for his ingenuity, knowledge, resourcefulness, tenacity, love of nature and gardening, and for his selfless devotion to his family. He was a professional truck driver at C.N. Weber for more than 40 years.
Profound thanks to all the staff and residents of Pinehaven for giving Ross a sense of community and an opportunity to enjoy each day to the best of his ability.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South in Waterloo, on Thursday, January 24 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 2:00 pm with Rev. James Brown officiating. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. A reception will follow the interment at the funeral home.
Donations to the PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) Foundation or the hospital of your choice would be appreciated. In living memory of Ross, a donation has been made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
