<h1>Frank Shantz</h1> 1921 - 2007 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Frank Shirk Shantz at K-W Health Centre of the Grand River Hospital on January 21, 2007 at the age of 85 years. Frank’s family meant everything to him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Eleanor Shantz (nee Donaldson); two children Keith Shantz (Linda) of Belleville and Catherine Schoger (Gary) of Petersburg; his grandchildren Sarah Shantz of Malaysia, Laura Shantz of Ottawa, Heidi Schoger of Toronto and Steven Schoger of London. Predeceased by two infant children Nancy and Scott; parents Alan Bowman Shantz and Catherine Shirk; brothers Russell, Mervine (Florence), Edward (Ella); sisters Erma Bingeman ( Marshall), Florence Becker (Maxwell) and Anna Cameron (Ewan). Frank was very proud of being a direct descendant of the founding fathers of the K-W area Mennonites, who came from Pennsylvania in 1804. He maintained contact with friends and relatives in Pennsylvania. In his early life he was very active in both the Mennonite Church and their relief work in Ontario. Frank farmed for many years on his Ottawa Street farm and was active in many business ventures in the K-W area. During the last number of years Frank lived in Muskoka in the summer and Waterloo in the winter. Friends are invited to share their memories of Frank with his family at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home 171 King Street South in Waterloo on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service to celebrate Frank’s life will be held at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 11 am. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener .
