Obituary of Elsie Reid

<h1>Elsie Reid</h1> 1917 – 2010 Passed away peacefully at Columbia Forest Long Term Care, Waterloo, on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, nine days before her 93rd birthday. Beloved wife of the late Dr. John Merritt (1964) and Harry Reid (1994). Elsie will be sadly missed by her daughter, Lorraine Phillips (Gordon), and her two granddaughters, Heather Frith and Wendy Drukten (James). She will be lovingly remembered as G.G. to “wee” Hailey, Carter and Alexandra. She will also be fondly remembered by three nephews in Scotland, Michael and John Kitson and John Winning. Elsie was a longtime member of Westmount Golf and Country Club where she had enjoyed curling and golf. At Elsie’s request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held. Thank you to CCAC for providing wonderful home care. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Columbia Forest for their patience, kindness and excellent care.
