Alex was proud of his education at Upper Canada College. It was there that he developed a love of sports, particularly hockey. He joined the family business Tait Plate Glass Co., which allowed him to travel to Europe and the United States to purchase high quality glass. Alex was an avid reader who enjoyed biographies and had a keen interest in politics and world affairs. He especially enjoyed the various international newspapers his family would bring back from their travels. His love of animals was clear in the many dogs he raised over the years. As well the regular grand-dog visits at Sunnyside gave him much pleasure.
At Alexs request, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Pioneer Tower staff for the care, compassion and respect shown to Alex the past few years.
As expressions of sympathy, condolences or donations to Sunnyside Home Foundation would be appreciated by the family and may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo, www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
