Passed away, peacefully at his home in Kitchener on January 2, 2008 at the age of 54 years.
Cherished husband of Darlene. Loving father of Charlene Ripley (Luke) and Steven Brooks. Proud grandfather of Jordan. Beloved son of Georgina Hughes. Sadly missed by his brothers, Larry Brooks (Karen Moore) and William (Ann) Brooks; sisters, Debbie (Neil) Mack and Peggy (Rae) Wells; nephews, David and Scott; niece, Sarah; three great-nephews, and 1 great-niece; parents-in-law, Roy and Alice Orth and in-laws, Cindy and Greg Webster and their son Nathen of Trenton. Doug is also survived by several uncles, aunts and cousins. Fondly remembered by Vera Hersey and George (Debby) Hersey of Nova Scotia.
Doug was a long time, dedicated employee of Home Hardware, St. Jacobs and will be long remembered as an avid Kitchener Rangers fan.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Doug with his family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King Street South in Waterloo on Sunday, January 6, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The memorial service to celebrate Dougs life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ralph Dwarika officiating. Following the service, friends are invited to join the family in the Funeral Home's Fireside Reception Room for refreshments and a time to visit. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Breslau
