Alan died peacefully at his home in Kitchener, surrounded by his beloved family, on Tuesday, January 2, 2007. He was in his 90th year.
He was the beloved husband of Suzanne; loved and respected father of Vanessa Perry of Uxbridge, Martin Perry of Kitchener, Anne Perry and her husband David Magnus of Woodbridge, Catherine Perry-Robertson and Paul Robertson of Aurora and Nigel Perry of Malton. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Adrian, Sarah, Graham, Caroline, Emily and Claire.
He was predeceased by his parents Edith (Russell) and Albert Perry; son-in-law, Bevan Hall and three sisters, Ivy, Edith and Beatrice.
Alan was a passionate pianist and lover of classical music. During the Second World War, he was a Captain with the 27th Field Regiment of the Royal Artillery in the Burma Campaign. He was a Professional Engineer for over 40 years. His spirit and enthusiasm for life will live on in his family, grandchildren and friends.
All are invited to share their memories of Alan with his family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes Street, Waterloo, on Saturday, January 6, 2007, 10 a.m., with Rev. Edward Sheridan as celebrant. The parish prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening at 8:45 p.m. Interment to follow in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
