<h1>James Gilliland</h1> JAMES ERIC GILLILAND 1928 - 2008 Passed away, peacefully at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, on January 19, 2008 at the age of 79 years. Born in Sweden, lived in Belfast Ireland and came to Canada in 1949 with his parents James and Mary Gilliland, both deceased. James and his cherished wife Marjorie I. Smith were married Jan. 15, 1954. Together they raised four wonderful children Elizabeth Anne Thorne of Napanee, Jeffrey James (Betty) of Cold Lake, Alberta, Colleen Mary Carter (Larry) of Caledonia and Glenda Alice O’Brien (Brian) of Kitchener. Jim was the proud grandfather of Paul and Brenda Thorne, Jeremy and Jennifer Gilliland, Tonya and Nicole Carter, and Molly, Claire and Brynley O’Brien. Special great-grandfather of Jonathan and Nicolas Thorne. Predeceased by his sister Nora (2002), Jim is survived by a sister Elsa and sister-in –law Betty Jane Rose. Honoring Jim’s personal wishes cremation will take place after a private visiting. Interment will take place at a later date at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Breslau.
