It is with sorrow that the family of Helen announces her sudden death on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Trinity Village Care Centre.
Mrs. Thomas was born on November 16, 1909 in Carrick Township and was a founding member of Our Lady Of Lourdes R.C. Church and a member of the C.W.L.
She will be missed by her three sons, Robert (Cavell), Paul (Judy), all of Waterloo and Charles (Nancy) of Kitchener and her three daughters, Catherine Thiel (Gerald) of Waterloo, Nancy McDougall (Basil) of Red Bay and Jane Goll (Jim) of Elmira. Grandmother of 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Roy in 1994, her parents, George Kunkel and Catherine Weiler, eight brothers and three sisters. She was the last surviving member of her family.
The family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, January 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm where parish prayers will be offered at 8:45 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes St., Waterloo on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 10:30 am with Rev. Edward Sheridan as celebrant. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
