Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family and friends at Parkwood Mennonite Home, on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the age of 97 years.
Marie was a devoted member of W-K United Mennonite Church. She was recognized by Meals on Wheels for over 25 years of volunteer work with the organization. Marie also enjoyed many years of volunteering her time cooking at Silver Lake Mennonite Camp.
Marie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Caron (Graham) Wishart of Toronto and Joan Reimer (Ab Henshaw) of Elora and her daughter-in-law Betty Reimer. She will be forever remembered by her grandchildren Brennan, Lindsay and Chantelle Goman, Kevin (Nicole) Reimer, Michael (Kayla) Reimer and Stefan (Crystal) Reimer, and her great-grandchildren Cole, Sam, Mackenzie, Jacob and Jasmine. She is also survived by her brother Abe (Karin) Bergen and sister-in-law Aggie Bergen.
Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband Nick Reimer in 1993, her son William (Bill) in 2008 and her brothers and sister-in-law Jacob Bergen and George and Kay Bergen.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Marie with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Nancy Brubaker officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo.
