<h1>Martha Muriel Ann Mitchell</h1> Passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener, on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at the age of 89 years. Predeceased by her beloved husband, William John (Bill) Mitchell. Loving mother of John Mitchell and his wife Jane of Waterloo. Cherished grandmother of Gwyneth Mitchell of Miramichi, New Brunswick and Bronwyn Mitchell of Waterloo. Survived by her sister, Joan Joshua-Turberville of Cwm, Ebbw Vale, Gwent. Lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews in Wales. Born in Cardiff, South Wales, Great Britain on December 4, 1918 to Edgar Richards and Martha (Evans) Richards. After immigrating to Canada she settled in St. Catharines where she worked as a school secretary for eighteen years at Connaught Public School, where she made a difference in the lives of many children. Muriel resided at 13 Ravine Rd. in St. Catharines where she spent many wonderful years with her neighbours, who became the dearest of friends. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and looking after her Japanese dogs, Chinnie and Toto. Friends are invited to share their memories of Muriel with her family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. The funeral service to celebrate Muriel’s life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. For those who wish to attend, a graveside committal service will take place on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in St. Catharines.
