<h1>John "John Joe" McLean</h1> 1921 - 2007 Surrounded by his loving family, John passed away peacefully at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Monday January 15, 2007. Loving husband of the late Edna (nee Phillips, 2006) John was the cherished father of Audrey (Larry) Roeder, Edna (Larry) Palubeski, Ruth (Earl) Reist, and the late Christina. Grandfather, “Papa” of Janette Roeder, John (Susan) Roeder, Larry (Brigette) Roeder, Tara Palubeski (Matt), PJ Palubeski (Tracey), Dan Koebel (Mariko), Shawn Koebel, Jason Koebel (Margaret), Brad (Maggie) Reist, and Rob Reist (Sheila). Great Grandfather of Brandon, Shyrille, John Joseph, Jessica, Jacob, Kayla, Natalie, Ashley, Wyatt, Brayden, Jack, Nicole, Joshua, Ben, Jennifer, and Rhiannon. Great Great Grandfather of Rebecca, Skylar, and Riley. Loving brother of Sarah (George) Charron of Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, and Mellie Boutilier of Dominion, Cape Breton Nova Scotia. Loving brother-in-law of Earl (Valera) Phillips, Russell (June) Phillips, Milford (Sue) Phillips, Robert (Pauline) Phillips, Lillian (Lorne) Wilhelm, Audrey (Roy) Schweitzer, and Dorothy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Daniel and Christina McLean, his sisters Mary, Josephine and by his brothers John Joe, and Joseph. Also predeceased by his brothers-in-law John Brodie, Weldon Boutilier and by his in laws Freeman and Mary, and by Margarite and Murray. John Joe was born March 3, 1921. He was a former resident of Bridgeport, Glace Bay, Cape Breton Nova Scotia. He was a 25 year retiree of J.M. Schneider’s. Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 530. John was inducted in the Boxing Hall of Fame. He spent years as referee of many boxing bouts. Coached minor ball and was #1 fan of all his family’s sporting events. Friends are invited to share their memories of John with his family during memorial visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Friday January 19, 2007 from 7-9 pm and on Saturday from 10 -11 am. The memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday January 20, 2007 at 11 am. Reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room. Interment in Parkview Cemetery.
