Jean Paul Thuot
January 18, 1924 –January 14, 2009 Died on January 14, 2009 at 84 years of age, with the comfort of knowing he was well loved. Paul leaves a large circle of relatives and friends, who will miss his generous, loving, joie d’vivre presence. Paul was born in Meyronne, Saskatchewan to Arthur and Leah (Boucher) Thuot. He was the sixth of seven siblings raised in a proud French Canadian family. He never lost his respect for the people of Southern Saskatchewan; who survived not only the great depression but a simultaneous desperate drought. That beginning established a profound compassion for the strength of the human spirit and love of family. Paul was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Ruth (nee Dorgan) on March 09, 2006; grandson Timothy Heming; brother’s George and Ray; and sister’s Jeanne, Lillian and Laura. He is survived by one sister, Edna Perron in Alberta. Paul was proud to be a pilot of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He held a deep respect for the Canadians who fought for our freedom and liberty. He was a member of the RCAF Wing 404. Paul’s loving legacy is carried on by his six children; John (Pat) BC; Bill (Carol) Waterloo; Margie Foster (Tom) Waterloo; Laura Heming Huntsville; Roger (Allison) Ottawa; Pierre (aka Pete) Kitchener and honorary son Gerry Emond (Jacquie) Hawkesbury, 16 Grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren whom he encouraged and brought him great pride; from BC David (Tara) Kerri and Jenny; Jean-Paul III (Dory) Sebastian and Eli; Leah (Andrew) ; from the Ottawa area James (Danielle) and Anderson, Jason, Melinda (Bob), Amanda; from Waterloo Kyle (Laura) and Ben; from Huntsville Kate and Jesse; from Ottawa Arthur, Charlotte, Rob and Emma; and daughter-in-laws Susan and Joanne. There are numerous special nieces, nephews, sisters/brothers-in-law and life long friends who meant so much to Dad, and he to them. For the past year Paul lived happily among wonderful new friends at the Court at Laurelwood. We are grateful for the caring shown Dad from managers Terry and Wanda. Thanks to Dr. Robert Kitzul and his wonderful nurse Mary for many years of kindness. There were many health care providers over the past 2 years to whom we are grateful, including surgeons Drs Mathew Kilmurry and Craig McFadyen; Oncologist Dr. Tam and Nurse Delaney; Nurse Marie and team 7 of the palliative home care team for their vigilant care; which enabled Dad to stay in his home.
