1923 - 2008

Passed away, peacefully at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, Ont. on Thursday January 10, 2008 at the age of 84 years.

Jake was born in Saint John New Brunswick on August 25, 1923. He joined the RCAF in 1941 in Halifax N.S. and served overseas as a pilot in the RAF, 30 Squadron from September 1943 to August 1944.

Jake will be remembered with love by his wife of 60 years, Beverley; his children, Jane Dukovich (Zelk), Judy Varcoe (Tim) and Martha Meyer (Fritz); 8 grandchildren, Nicole, Adam, Jessica, Jesse, Jenna, Rachel, Calleigh and Kyle, and 2 great-grandsons, Bryson and Ayden Posa. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Jake will be remembered for his keen sense of humour and extensive collection of hats.

In honour of Jake’s personal wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Interment will take place in Saint John New Brunswick.
