<h1>Jeffrey Aho</h1> February 28, 1986 - 2010 Jeffrey Aho passed away in Waterloo, Ontario, on February 4, 2010. Much loved son of Brian and Linda Aho, and brother Mark. He will be greatly missed by his family and numerous friends. He was a graduate of Gorham and Ware Public School and Port Arthur Collegiate Institute as an Ontario Scholar. He had received many awards, bursaries and scholarships upon his graduation. He proudly achieved the Chief Scout Award in his youth. Jeffrey played trumpet for the PACI band, the Thunder Bay Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Thunder Bay City Band. He was also an avid cross country skier at Lappe Ski Centre. Jeffrey was attending the University of Waterloo majoring in Mechatronics Engineering with a minor in Political Science. He was an active and visible individual of student life at UW: Director in the Federation of Students for UW, brother and former proconsul of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, contributing writer for the campus papers Imprint and the Iron Warrior. Jeffrey was previously active as the Charter VP for the Optimist International, EngSoc Genius Bowl Director and Student Services Advisory Committee Member. He also was a member of Canadian Civil Liberties Association and the Liberal Party of Canada/Ontario. His passions were politics, reading, math, music, engineering, and debating. He had recently won the engineering debating competition for UW. He was a true connoisseur in everything he did or believed in. He is also survived by his granny, Sarah Kennedy, grandparents Arline and Arthur Aho, aunts and uncles, Janice (Hermann) Huegli, Kevin (Sherely) Aho, Sandra (Mike) Maley, Jackie (Kevin) Myles, Betty Kennedy, John (Flora) Kennedy, Jim Kennedy, numerous cousins and family members. Predeceased by grandfather Jack Kennedy, great grandparents Steve Ray, Irene Kennedy, Hjalmar and Signe Aho and great aunt and uncle Barbara and Terry Sutton. As Jeffrey requested, cremation has taken place. A White Rose ceremony was conducted by his Sigma Chi Fraternity on February 8th at the University of Waterloo. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday February 12th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, Thunder Bay. Private family interment to follow. Family and friends may gather one hour prior to service time.
