<h1>George Thom</h1> Born August 18, 1920 in Aberdeen, Scotland and came to Canada in 1947. Predeceased by wife Iva; parents George Murdoch Thom and Rose Fraser; brother Stanley; brother-in-law Don Collins; and son-in-law Ron King. Survived and sadly missed by sisters Barbara and Adeline of Aberdeen; children Barbara King, Anne Tremblay and her husband Sam of Welland, Robert Thom and his wife Brenda of Collingwood and Pat Kirkpatrick and partner Brian Wadel of Kitchener; sister-in-law Helen Thom of Aberdeen; and nieces and nephews Hilary, Caroline, Christine, Helen, Norma, Jean, Dave, Bob, and Richard. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Andy and Mardi King, Angela King, Rhonda King, Tim and Marie-Pier Tremblay, Rick and Andrea Tremblay, Chris and Shelley Thom, Lana Thom, Chris and Colleen Thom, Kelly Kirkpatrick, Kevin Kirkpatrick; as well as great-grandchildren Kylie, Rebecca, Sasha, Telina, Kayla, Lucas, and Emily. He was a veteran of the Second World War, joining the R.A.F. at the age of 18. Longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Kitchener, Branch 50. He was a carpenter by trade and a very skilled woodworker. He worked on construction and at mines in Matheson and Elliot Lake. He started work on Security at Wilfrid Laurier University and worked there for 30 years. He loved his work and being with the students. The memorial service to celebrate George’s life will be held in the chapel of the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at 2 p.m. A private interment was held prior to the service at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Breslau.
