<h1>Maria Schubert</h1> 1928 – 2009 Passed away peacefully, at Freeport Hospice, on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the age of 80. Maria is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Albert; her daughter Margit Schwartz and her husband Ron of Kitchener and her son Bernie Schubert and his wife Karen of Waterloo, and her beloved grandchildren, Matthew and Amanda Schwartz and Alexander and Jocelyn Schubert. She will also be remembered by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Martin (Marie) Schelling and Michael (Lilli) Schelling as well as her nieces and nephews. Maria was predeceased by her brother, John Schelling. Maria enjoyed singing in the German Choir at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and was involved in the Ladies Group of the Concordia Club for over 30 years. She will always be remembered for her love of gardening and the special place she held in her heart for her grandchildren. Friends are invited to share their memories of Maria with her family during a visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Monday, March 2, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, March 3 at 10:30 am with the Rev. J.R. Bestvater officiating. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home and interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener at a later date.
