<h1>Bernie Baetz</h1> 1935 – 2008 Bernie passed away suddenly at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Monday February 25, 2008, in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Connie (nee Counter) for 50 years. Devoted father of Bob (Marlene Schueller), Tim (Sylvie Bournival), Dave, and Lisa Sullivan (Mike). Cherished grandfather of Caitlin, Colin, Cody, Dean, Robbie, Cassandra and Michael. Also survived by sisters, Betty Wagner (Herb) and Helen Wojcik; brother, Rob Baetz (Judy) and brother-in-law, Frank Hughes. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Otto and Violet Baetz; brothers, Bill and Harry; and sisters, Marg and Jean. Bernie worked as a plumber in the K-W area for 54 years, primarily employed by Sutherland-Schultz and Lackie Bros. He was a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters, local 527. He was President of the K-W Khaki Club in Wellesley for more than 30 years. Bernie was also a Sgt. Major in the Scots Fusiliers (Militia) and was a member of the Canadian Legion, Waterloo Branch. In his spare time he enjoyed horseshoes and was an avid New York Yankees fan. Visitation will be held at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Bernie’s life and faith will take place at Zion Lutheran Church, 3357 Erb’s Rd., Philipsburg on Friday, February 29, 2008 at 1 p.m., the Rev. Syd Hills officiating. Reception will immediately follow at the K-W Khaki Club, 2939 Nafziger Rd., Wellesley. Interment in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Spring.
