<h1>Homer Burkhardt</h1> 1914 – 2009 Passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2009 at the Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital at the age of 94. Devoted father of Nelson (Joan) of Guelph, Delton (Margaret) of Lucknow, James (Barbara) of New Hamburg, Laverne (Jane) of Kitchener and Edward of Breslau. He will be lovingly remembered by his 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his brother Wayne Burkhart, sisters Martha (Aden) Weber and Ellen (Clare) Martin, sister-in-law Eunice Burkhart and brother-in-law Leonard Gingrich. Predeceased by his wife Anna (nee Rudy), siblings Viola (Andy) Bowman, Lauretta Burkhart, Ruby (Edmund) Martin, Roy Burkhart and Doris Gingrich, and sister-in-law Lydia Burkhart. Visitation will be held at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at Wanner Mennonite Church, 1725 Beaverdale Rd., Cambridge on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 2 p.m., the Rev. Don Penner officiating. Reception will immediately follow the service in the Church Hall. Interment in Wanner Mennonite Cemetery in the Spring.
