Passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Trinity Village Care Centre.
Jean was born on January 20, 1911 in Acton, Ontario. She was a member of St. Michaels Church and the Catholic Womens League. During her stay at Trinity Village she was a faithful participant in the weekly mass.
Loving wife of John (1996) for 64 years. Cherished mother of Marlene (deceased Oct. 2008) (Sonny) Soehner, Etobicoke; Doreen Ritter (Carl), Waterloo; and Sharon MacEwing (Alex) Maryhill.
Survived by one sister Cora Derby and sister-in-law Rosemary Hawthorne, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild. Predeceased by her parents George and Cora Hawthorne, three brothers Herb, John and Ken, and one sister Mary.
The family would like to thank all the staff for the loving care and kindness you gave mom during her six years at Trinity and a thank you to Dr. Casey.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Jean with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo (today) Monday, February 23, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, February 24 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
The service to celebrate Jeans life and faith will take place Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. W. Kuzma officiating. Interment in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
