Gladys passed away at St. Marys General Hospital, Kitchener, on Thursday, February 22, 2007, at the age of 88.
Loving mother of Carol Sandham of Waterloo and Sharon Parsons and husband Brent of Kitchener. Special grandma of Heather Cloes and Paul, Wendy Schell and Steve, Todd Sandham and Brenda, Scott Parsons and Angela, and Kirk Parsons. Gladys was proud of her five great-granddaughters, Shannon, Taylor, Sydney, Makayla and Addison. Survived by sister-in-law, Beatrice Musselman and brother-in-law Harold Schlueter and wife Mary. Remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband, Lorne Schlueter in 1975; parents, Frederick and Melinda Helfers; step-father Alvin Sherk; one brother, four sisters and son-in-law, Paul Sandham.
Gladys was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church, Mannheim where she played the organ for 50 years and was involved in the Ladies Group. She also enjoyed participating in various seniors groups.
Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories of Gladys during visitation at The Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Sunday, February 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The service of celebration and thanksgiving for Gladys life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, February 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow the service. Private family interment at St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Mannheim.
