Of Ottawa, passed away suddenly, Monday February 2, 2009 at the Montfort Hospital, Ottawa, at the age of 70. Born October 26, 1938, he was the son of the late Edward and Loretta (Griffin) Jolliffe.
David lived all his life in Canada, except for when he served in the Army. He joined the Royal Canadian Signal Corps in 1956 and retired with numerous medals in 1993. David was predeceased by his beloved wife Judith (Byers) Jolliffe and her father Lloyd Byers. Left to mourn with fond memories are his three sons, Phillip (Sue) of Toronto, Sean (Nancy) and Kerri all of Ottawa along with his grandsons, Ryan, Derek and Luke. Loved by his sister Janet (Herb) Williams and their daughter Krista all of Newfoundland. Cherished by Jean Byers and her sons Steven (Lea) Byers and David (Joanne) Byers all of Kitchener, and will be missed dearly by his many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to share their memories of David with his family during a visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Friday February 6, 2009, from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, February 7 at 1 p.m. Interment in Parkview Cemetery followed by a reception in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
