It is with deep sadness that the family of Len Martin announces his passing on February 19, 2010. Len died peacefully at Lisaard House surrounded by the love of his family after a brief illness.
Beloved husband and best friend of Mary Ann (nee Huck). Cherished father of Jeff, Tim and his wife Natasha, and KellyAnn and her husband Derek Florian. Much loved Papa to Kyle and Breeanne Martin, and Mark and Evan Florian.
Predeceased by his parents Menno and Mary Ann Martin.
Len was the eldest of eleven children in a very loving and caring family. He will be missed by all his brothers and sisters: Miriam and Lorne Stauffer of Goshen, IN., Arlene and Harvey Kehl of Kitchener, Arnie of Langley, B.C., Jim and Shirley of Wellesley, Erla and Lloyd Koch of Pembroke, Larry and Lynette of St. Jacobs, Ron of Drayton, Ken and Gloria of Elmira, Marilyn and Paul Brubacher of Elmira, Darrell of Calgary, AB., and brother-in-law John and Debbie Huck of Kitchener. Len is survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved.
Len was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree (Maryhill). He was a charter member of Kawartha Lakes Council and an honourary life member. Len was a member of Big Brothers for many years.
He retired after 42 years in sales in the moving industry. Len was a hard worker and was respected by his customers from coast to coast for his commitment and integrity.
Friends and family are invited to share their memories of Len during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Monday, February 22, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be said at 8:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church., 173 Lourdes St. W., Waterloo, on Tuesday, February 23, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Edward Sheridan as Celebrant.
