Obituary of Harry Koegler

Harry Koegler

Beloved husband of Dolores (Kunberger), devoted father to Bill (Joanne), Donna Stares (Sandy) and proud, loving grandfather to Brad Koegler, passed away at the KW Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on February 16, 2009. He is also survived by his siblings Siegfried of Lethbridge, Hanna Schlenker of Waterloo, John of Waterloo and Marion Barker of Canmore.
Harry is predeceased by his parents Arno Rudolph Koegler and Emma Rosa Hoehlig. Harry will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Harry always took time to stop and talk to his many friends and acquaintances. He was a born story teller and had an arsenal of jokes on hand to make everyone lighthearted and at ease. He was a plant manager for many years and built his matrimonial home by hand with the help of his father-in-law and good friends. Classical music had always been at the heart of Harrys passion and he played flute and piccolo with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony for over 25 years. His family meant everything to him, and he was most at peace in nature, loving all it had to offer.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Harry with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Thursday, February 19, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday February 20 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 22 Willow Street, Waterloo, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery. A reception will be held back at the church following the burial.
Condolences for the family and donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Grand River Hospital Foundation may be arranged through the funeral home, 519.745.8445 or www.erbgood.com. In living memory of Harry, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home
Happiness Is
Happiness is when you are content,
Knowing your life has been well spent.
You feel successful in what youve done,
Secure in knowing the battles won.
Theres nothing more that you want or need,
Knowing that anything else is greed.
Feeling that your lifes been blessed,
And satisfied that youve done your best.
