Obituary of Jack Wiebe

<h1>Jack Wiebe</h1> 1927 – 2009 Passed away on Monday, February 16, 2009, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, at age 81. Beloved husband and best friend of Wanda (Dick) for 58 years; loved father of Hugo and Erna Staab; dear grandfather of Nicole, Katrin, and Uwe Staab; brother of Nicolai Wiebe and Anna Bosch, and several nieces and nephews, all in Germany. Loving uncle of Ron and Diane Wiens, and Steve and Pam Wiens, and their families. Will also be missed by a cousin, Ellie Tews and her family, a godchild, Ingrid Hoel, and his many relatives and friends. Jack received his M.A. in Russian Literature from the University of Waterloo in 1966 and lectured in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Guelph until 1971. He continued his career with the Federal Government in Ottawa, in the Translation Bureau until his retirement in 1993. Friends are invited to share their memories of Jack with his family during memorial visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Waldemar Regier officiating. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
