Peacefully, at the Sunshine Centre, Luther Village, Waterloo, on February 14, 2008, in his 86th year and in the presence of his loving family.
Predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Sophie. Loving father of Marc (Jane) of Scarborough, Brian (Nora) of Mississauga, Carol Smeltzer (Joe) of Fergus, Dr. Barbara Bushby (Stephen) of Deep River, and a loving grandpa of 11 grandchildren, Robyn, Danya, Kirsten, Tess, Neil, Colleen, Gordy, Hannah, Claire, Ronni and Charley.
Predeceased by his parents, Harry and Kathleen, sister Nettie and granddaughter Ronni.
Dad was very proud of his accomplishments, both as Chief Engineer at B.F. Goodrich from 1956-1985, and of his family and grandchildren.
He was one of the original wardens for Camp 15. He spent many years presiding over the U. of W. Iron Ring Ceremonies for graduating engineers.
Dad had a passion for wood carving and enjoying his family at the cottage.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South in Waterloo, on Sunday, February 17, 2008 from 1 to 4 pm. A private family cremation and celebration of Bills life will have already been held. The familys heartfelt thanks are extended to the nursing staff at the Sunshine Centre and to the Care Partners Team 7 group of dedicated nurses; Marie, Trish, Melanie and Kelly. A special thanks to Marie, Laura, Noreen and Cindy for being so caring and compassionate.
