<h1>Garth Brillinger</h1> August 12, 1931 – February 1, 2008 Garth passed away, suddenly, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Garth was formerly Deputy Director of Personnel for the Region of Waterloo, having worked in senior management for the region from 1981 to 1988 and then as Acting Director of Personnel until his retirement in 1992. Previously, Garth was Director of Personnel and Labour Relations for the City of Timmins. Throughout his life, Garth was an avid alpine skier and ski school instructor. In Kitchener, he was a ski instructor and supervisor and was the longest serving president of the Chicopee Ski Club; in Timmins, he was a longtime director of the Kamiskotia Ski School. Beloved husband and best friend of Pat Gatrall, Garth is also survived by daughter Barbara Mortson (Jamie), son Donald (Danny Pratt), and step-daughter Lori Hillcoat (George). He is also remembered by his grandchildren Dana (Jay), Kelsey, and Tyler. Garth was predeceased by parents Stewart and Viola (nee McLeod) Brillinger and brother Don, who died during service as an RCAF pilot in the Second World War. The family will receive friends for memorial visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South in Waterloo, on Sunday, February 3, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, February 4, 2008 at 11 am. Reception will follow the service at the funeral home.
