<h1>Ruth Schmitt</h1> 1916 – 2009 Went home to be the Lord from Fairview Mennonite Home, Cambridge, on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at age 93. Beloved wife of the late Rev. Lorne Schmitt; loved mother of Mary Makris (Ken), Lois Austen, John (Judy), Esther Elder (Larry), Paul (Linda), and Daniel (Caroline); loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; dear sister of Marie Kleinsasser. Predeceased by a brother, John Duerksen and a sister, Martha Oswald Friends are invited to share their memories of Ruth with her family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Friday from 2 – 4 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Fairview Mennonite Home, 515 Langs Drive, Cambridge on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Vern Trafford officiating. A reception will follow the service. Interment in Mannheim Mennonite Cemetery.
