1923 2009
Passed away peacefully, at KW Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on December 6, 2009, at the age of 86 years.
Survived by her husband Valentin; her children, Brigitte Susanne Mausser and Karin Bruggemann; her brother Egon Turner and her sisters, Erna Ebner, Berta Pacher, Hanna Fazekas and Pauline Rutschman. She was predeceased by her father Johann Turner; her mother Susanne Maier and her sister Steffi Wolf. Eleonore is fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Kristen and Melissa Bruggemann, Amy, Ryan and Christy Mausser.
Eleonore was born in Treffen Austria, on Feb. 21, 1923. She graduated from College in 1948 with a diploma in Office and Sales Management and served many years as a nursing assistant during World War 11. Valentin and Eleonore were married in Klafenfurt, Austria on Oct. 24, 1954, and later immigrated to Canada in 1956. Eleonore, a devoted Christian, who was a beloved member of the Kitchener Seventh-day Adventist Church, served many years as a church deaconess. She will be dearly missed by all her family, her church family, and her dear and closest friends. She will be remembered for her passion for life, delight in gardening and caring for those around her.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Eleonore with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, from 7-9 p.m. following a private family memorial service.
