Died at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 from complications following surgery.
Beloved husband of Marilyn, with whom he celebrated 55 years of marriage on August 11, 2006.
Much loved father of Heather and her husband Peter Steckenreiter, Carol and her husband John Schnarr, Jane, and Vicky and her husband Scott McLean. Will be missed by grandchildren Lindsay (Dan Dobson) and Erin Steckenreiter, Timothy and Jamie Schnarr, Max and Jack Miller, and Josh, Sam and Maggie McLean. Survived by his brother Ross and his wife Pat and sister-in-law Jeanette.
Predeceased by his daughter Susan in 1960, parents Norman and Lora Truemner and brother Morley.
Born February 4, 1926 in Arthur, Ontario, Paul followed his father into dentistry. Paul graduated from the University of Toronto in 1949 and moved to Waterloo where he practised dentistry for 38 years until his retirement in 1987. He was a Past-President of Waterloo Wellington Dental Society. A long time member and elder at First United Church in Waterloo, a member of the Ys Mens Club, a member of the Probus Club of Kitchener-Waterloo, and the retired Business and Professional Mens Club of Kitchener-Waterloo.
Paul loved to travel, play bridge, cross-country ski and spend time with his family at their cottage on Bala Bay in Muskoka. A long time sports fan, he waited impatiently for the Toronto Maple Leafs to win the Stanley Cup again. He will be missed by his friends, and most of all, by his family.
The Truemner family extends their thanks to the nurses and doctors of the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospitals ICU and the 6th floor who took such good care of Paul during the past two months.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Paul with his family during visitation at the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Sunday December 10, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service to celebrate Pauls life will be held at First United Church, 16 William Street West, Waterloo on Monday December 11, 2006 at 1:30 pm with the Rev. Richard W. Hawley officiating. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo. Reception will follow at the church.
