<h1>Muriel Cowan</h1> JESSIE MURIEL COWAN 1916 - 2009 Passed away peacefully, with her family by her side on December 3, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener. Cherished mother of Stewart (Doris), Ted (Joanne) and Patrick (Lin). Dear grandmother of Kieran (Heather Kamp), Rebecca (Mark Jenkins), Gillian, Alex, and Erica. Muriel will be sadly missed by her sister Joyce (Ray) Reierson, brother-in-law Len Shebeski, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her beloved husband Dr. Robert Cowan, parents John and Jessie Stewart, sister Laura Shebeski, and grandson Geoffrey. Muriel graduated from the University of Winnipeg and was a life member of the Canadian Federation of University Women. She greatly loved her Monday night book group. The family wishes to thank the staff at Lanark Place for their care over the past 2 years and the 3rd Floor Cardiology Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital for their care during Muriel’s last illness. Friends are invited to share their memories of Muriel with her family during memorial visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. The memorial service will be held at Church of the Holy Saviour, 33 Allen St. E., Waterloo, on Monday, December 7 at 11 a.m. with the Venerable Peter T. Townshend officiating. A reception will follow. Interment will take place in McGregor Bay at a later date.
