<h1>John Capindale</h1> 1928 - 2007 Passed away, suddenly but peacefully at his home on December 3, 2007 at the age of 79 years with his loving wife at his side. Cherished husband and best friend of Olive (nee Gresham)for 55 years. Devoted father of Delwyn Patricia Peck, Peter Gresham Capindale, David Martin Bretton Capindale (Moni), Ruth Anne Capindale (Tony Johnson) and Karen Jane Capindale-Smith (Joel). Loving Grandfather of Michael and Alex Peck, Nicola, Bretton and Aaron Capindale, Alana Johnson, and Emma, Kate and Cail Smith. Predeceased by his parents Norris and Annie Capindale (nee Bretton); father-in-law Thomas Faulkner Gresham and mother-in-law Mary Elizabeth Claydon Gresham; son-in-law John Lois Peck and his grandson Christopher Peck. John will be sadly missed by his many relatives and friends in the UK, Canada, and the United States. John graduated from Oxford University with a PhD in Chemistry. In 1961 John and Olive settled in Waterloo where John enjoyed a fulfilling and dedicated career at the University of Waterloo for over 30 years. John’s commitment spilled over in his love of the church and his passion for associated music and involvement in his grandchildren’s activities. He served the Church of the Holy Saviour as choir director, warden and faithful member. John’s love for travel took him and Olive many times to the UK to sing in some of Britain’s major Cathedrals with the Cathedral Singers of Ontario. John’s admirable personality will be missed by many. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories of John with his family during memorial visiting at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Thursday December 6, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday December 7, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held at the Church of the Holy Saviour, 33 Allen Street East, Waterloo, on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 11 a.m. with The Venerable Peter T. Townshend officiating. Following the service, friends are invited to join the family in the church hall for refreshments and a time to visit.
