<h1>Shirley Rothwell</h1> Died peacefully on December 25, 2008 at the age of 81, surrounded by her loving family. A proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was a lover of literature, nature, theatre, and time shared with family and friends. Shirley was born in Port Huron, Michigan to Stewart and Isobel Burkholder on April 9, 1927 and grew up Kitchener - Waterloo, later moving to the family farm in Arthur Township before returning to KW in 1992. She is survived by her children,Terry (Sandy), Deb (Jim) Krulicki, Kim (Harold) Baker, Jordan (Donalee) and their loving father George. Also survived by her son-in-law Brent DeMeuleneare; siblings Stuart, Donna (Johnson), Chuck and Ted; and eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Predeceased by daughter Pam DeMeuleneare, son Jay and sister Betty Piskorski. Special thanks to Doctors Rinne, Pearce and Smith and the great team at the St. Mary’s Cardiac Care Unit. Their care, professional competence and compassion will always be remembered by Shirley’s family. Visitation for Shirley will be at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Monday January 5, 2008, 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday January 6, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 54 Queen St. N, Kitchener on Wednesday January 7, at 2 p.m. Private family committal service will take place at a later date. Donations in Shirley’s memory can be made to the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener, or Chiefswood National Historic Site Brantford, Ontario and can be arranged through the funeral home, 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com In living memory of Shirley, a donation will be made by the funeral home to the Trees for Learning Program.
