<h1>Irene Knipfel</h1> (nee Horst) 1916 – 2008 Irene was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 15, 2008, at age 92. Irene was an active and involved member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Petersburg. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Walter on November 28, 2008. Loved mother of Audrey Cook, Bill and Catherine Knipfel, and Tom and Joan Knipfel. Loving grandmother of Perian, Pam, Krista, Dean, Ryan, Adam, Andrew, Paulet, Mike, Cathy and Jennifer, and nine great-grandchildren. Dear sister of John Horst and his wife Loretta and sister-in-law of Beryl Horst and Donalda Horst. Remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, John and Annie (Cook) Horst, brothers, Earl (Mildred), Robert, and Sanford, sister Olive Krug (Clayton), and son-in-law, Walter Cook. Friends are invited to share their memories of Irene with her family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, December 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 11a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Richard Orlowski officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Spring interment in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Petersburg.
