<h1>Owen Geiger</h1> (“JIVEY”) Passed away on Monday, December 10, 2007 at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital.. Predeceased by his parents Dr. William Geiger and the former Grace Martin, brothers William of Waterloo and James of Deep River and best friend Nina Bassett. Survived by sister Helen Heller (Lane) of London and sister-in-law Gladys Geiger of Deep River. Lovingly remembered by daughter Carol Stephenson of Kitchener, son Paul Geiger (Gloria) of Manitoba and daughter Sandy Hachborn (Don) of Maryhill. Sadly missed by grandchildren Phil Stephenson (Kiki) of Toronto, Scott Stephenson (Tracy) of Waterloo, Todd Stephenson (Tracy) of Kitchener and Amy Ehni (Kyle) of Cambridge and seven great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Special ‘Poppa’ to Doreen Brown and family. Owen was born in Kitchener 81 years ago. His love of music began at a very young age. He played piano, trumpet and trombone. At age 16 he joined his first band and over the years played with both the Kitchener and Waterloo Musical Society Bands, the Al Kuhn Orchestra, The Pickleheimer Band, The Over-The-Hill Gang, the Milverton Legion Band and his own O.J. Geiger’s Combo at Trails End Hotel, Conestogo. A lifetime resident of Waterloo, Owen was self-employed in various ventures through most of his working years. Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 13 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., Waterloo 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com. A celebration of Owen’s life will take place at the Funeral Home on Friday, December 14 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the celebration. A reception will follow with a private family committal thereafter. Owen would be delighted if you would raise a glass in his honour.
